I work closely with you to set therapeutic goals that are relevant to your life. Identifying what you want and what you need so that you can live the life you've always wanted. I will help you with identifying and modifying ineffective patterns of coping and relating, while recognizing and cultivating your strengths.
I do this by working directly with emotions, the mind and the body. I will assist you in experiencing emotions, making meaning of them and identifying reactive patterns so that you can have more freedom to act with intention. I will also help you foster curiosity about body sensations and about the multiplicity of self. To do this, I use both Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT) and Internal Family Systems (IFS). Both of these modalities are experiential and allow you to work with present moment felt experience. For treating trauma, I use Lifespan Integration (LI). This modality allows you to revisit a traumatic event, experience a tolerable amount of activation, and move through a timeline of your life that will help you process and integrate your experience. Completing this process teaches your brain and your nervous system that you're no longer experiencing trauma. Many people report lower levels of activation when experiencing common triggers after completing LI sessions.
I specialize in working with: men who are frustrated by the lack of relational connectivity in their lives, highly sensitive/shy individuals, and folks who have high levels of anxiety or worry.
