3 HOUR INTENSIVES FOR

Couples who want to open their relationship

CONSIDERING OPENING YOUR RELATIONSHIP……

clearly identify your individual why - together consider some of the hows

How do we feel about…..

What type of relationships are you comfortable exploring?

What’s important about your relationship? What do you want to make sure to protect? How do you do that?

Would you keep this aspect of your relationship public or private?

How often are you comfortable with yourself or your partner going on dates with others?

How much information about other partners do you need to share? How much information do you want to share/receive?

How much money can you budget for dates with others?

What about overnights?

All of these are the types of topics to start exploring if you’re considering opening your relationship. There are multiple ways to go about this and there are many things to consider.

Three hour intensive - what it looks like

I’ve completed Martha Kauppi’s Level 1 training on consenual non-monogamy and will guide you through several topics to consider before pursuing non-monogamy. Whether you’re both ready to jump in to non-monogamy or one of you has doubts, exploring your thoughts and feelings regarding fidelity, monogamy, autonomy, closeness and jealousy will allow you to create the relationship (s) you desire. There are many ways to engage in consensual non-monogamy. Let’s discover your why and then create a plan for how to get started on your journey.

The first hour will be spent learning about the current areas of strengths and challenges in your relationship. We’ll quickly review your relationship history and identify any areas of challenge that need to be accounted for as you consider opening up your relationship to other partners.

The second hour will be spent identifying your why and exploring possibilities of how to engage with your desires in a way that feels manageable to your current lifestyle and relationship.

The third hour will be spent on specific next steps and creating loose agreements. I say loose because agreements that tend to work best in non-monogamy offer a safe frame work to explore, without creating rules that restrict exploration.

Who is this intensive for?

Couples who are straight, queer, asexual, genderfluid, transgender and agender.

Couples who are challenging dominant cultural narratives regarding healthy relationships.

Couples who want to open their relationship and want support with feelings of fear and jealousy.

Couples where one person is a yes for opening the relationship and the other isn’t sure, but is open to exploring non-monogamy as a possibility.

Couples who are interested in only sexual relationships with others.

Couples who are interested in creating long-term romantic connections with others.

Couples who want to date separately, couples who want to date together.
